An Innovative Therapy for Menopausal Symptoms

This week I had a very interesting session will Gill Wood of Intelligent Wellness.  Gill has created a peaceful and relaxing environment at Herts Golf and Country Club where you can experience the benefits of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF).

I asked Gill about the benefits of PEMF for menopausal symptoms.

PEMF Treatment

PEMF Treatment

“iMRS/ PEMF can be used as a supportive therapy alongside other treatments to alleviate the various systems of menopause and perimenopause. iMRS can promote more restful sleep, promote stable moods and improve energy. Osteoporosis is a concern for many women going through menopause. Osteoporosis means ” Porous Bones”

At Menopause when oestrogen levels drop, bone loss can increase dramatically. A common result of osteoporosis is fractures. Several factors can influence healthy levels of bone mineralisation and bone density. These include regular exercise, the right level of dietary calcium and vitamin D and good hormone balance. The effects of PEMF on bone density have been proven through extensive research. To find out more about PEMF and improving bone density www.pubmed.com and search for the author Dr Andrew Basset who has done extensive research on  PEMF and bone metabolism.”

So what is it the treatment like?  I completed a health questionnaire while I sipped on a high quality Japanese tea.  Then Gill made me comfortable on one of the iMRS mats and helped me to position the LED goggles and earphones that make up the integrated sound and light relaxation system.  For the next ten minutes I just laid there and relaxed listening to the music and watching the lights pulse on my eyelids.

At the end of the treatment I felt totally relaxed and chilled.  A niggling back ache had subsided and I was breathing easier despite my cold.  For long-lasting change or chronic illnesses you need a course of treatment and Gill can advise on what would be suitable.

Gill is very knowledgeable about the system and its benefits.  If you think it might be right for you, it is definitely worth visiting Gill’s website and giving her a call.  http://www.intelligentwellnesslounge.co.uk/
