I am an NLP Master Practitioner and cognitive hypnotherapist. More importantly, I am a woman in her 50′s who is determined to stay cool.
I didn’t know what to expect as I got closer to my menopause. It was not the sort of subject we discussed in our family and anyway my mother had a hysterectomy when she was in her early 40s. Her doctor told her that she would feel like ‘an 18 year old’ after the operation and I know that wasn’t true. But I was a bit too young to understand what she was experiencing.
When I got into my 50s I thought I would suddenly know everything that I needed to but It didn’t happen automatically. I talked to a few close friends, just like I did when I was a teenager going through puberty. It turns out that puberty was easier to talk about. Starting your periods was kind of a badge of honor. I was surprised to find out that some of my friends had already been on HRT for a number of years but they had never mentioned it. The only friend who was quite open about her experiences was having serious hot flushes so it was hard for her to hide it.
While I was training to be a cognitive hypnotherapist I learned are lots of great NLP techniques that you can use to deal with the symptoms and I want to share them with you. I also want to share with you information about menopause so that you can make informed decisions about your treatment.
Menopause is a natural process that all of us women have to go through sooner or later. Let’s take action and make it a positive experience.
